| 2. How much Photoshop do you use? | |
I try to use Photoshop very minimally. I only use it to make minor corrections, such as deleting those pesky dust spots on images and other such things. I never use Photoshop for things like inserting interesting clouds on images where a plain blue sky is present. I take pictures with the intent to show a scene exactly like I saw it at the time of capture. I also use it to apply various digital filters (see the next question). |

| 3. But the colors in some of your images are gorgeous and extremely vivid. If you don’t use Photoshop, then what do you use to accomplish this? | |
I use Photoshop to apply digital filters and presets made by third-party companies. These include Nik Software Silver Efex Pro, Nik Software Color Efex Pro 3.0, and onOne PhotoTools 2 Professional, among others. I also use Alien Skin Software Exposure 2 to simulate the effects that would result from shooting with various film types. As an example, I use this software to simulate the effects of Fuji Velvia 50, a film that is very popular with landscape and nature photographers for its ability to produce deep, rich and vivid colors. |

| 5. Which is your favorite lens out of the bunch? | |
A tough one to answer at that. If I had to pick absolutely one, it would have to be my Canon 16-35mm f/2.8L. It’s a wide-angle, and one of the best lenses for shooting landscapes. The images produced by it are nice and crisp. Having zoom capabilities is nice too. |
